Well i buy her and Adam being together..they are both fucked and they relationship started that way. But Fran was too grounded, too nice from the beginning, and after that disastrous first date, why would him want to date her? Like in a serious relationship?

he had pictures of his ex on his phone still. you're also pretty open to dating someone because they want to be with you and not necessarily because you would normally be with them when you're on the rebound.

I don't think that's unrealistic at all. I loved seeing Hannah force herself to try something and then snap when it got to be too much. I thought it was incredibly realistic. But then, sadly, I've been the Hannah in that relationship before.

I agree. Also, why would Fran date Hanna in the first place?
who knows what his previous situation was, but maybe he was freshly broken up with that girl on his phone?
Yeah, but a full relationship with Hanna?
Ha:

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Explain where did you come with that.
We know that Fran has dark tendencies. He likes to control people. We know, or we can strongly infer even if it isn't explicitly stated, that he's had his heart broken recently. He sees a project in Hannah. He sees someone who is weaker than him and insecure and odd, probably very different from the last girl. And I think he believes she is interesting (because she is) and talented (because she is) and unusual (because she is). He's drawn to that. Because he's pragmatic and calculating, because he sees himself as the sensible one, he's willing to put up with her eccentricities, and he believes he can control her and mold her to her full potential. He can't, and that's why he loses it the way he does. We finally get to see a bit of the darker side of Fran in that break up scene and its startling.
I love how in that scene we shift from "how could Fran want to date Hannah for so long" to "why the fuck didn't Hannah ditch his ass sooner?" It's pretty brilliant. And it's a fantastic example of a typically unreliable narrator-type character (Hannah) actually being very insightful. We've doubted Hannah all these weeks, just like Marnie we've said, "He's a good guy, you're just being Hannah." And we didn't listen to her. But she was right. Fran's a fucking dick.

I don't think Fran is a dick at all. He was pushed to that point by Hannah's behavior. He seemed pretty patient, but he was pushed to that end.

I think we were supposed to gather from Fran's arch this season that the patience and all of that was kind of an act and that the guy really has some control issues and maybe even a bit of a temper. And I think the way he behaved in that rest stop was out of line. Hannah was out of line as well, but he got dark and potentially violent.
It's telling that I felt less scared for Hannah in Hector's car than I did when Fran was screaming.
But I'm not saying that Fran would have done anything terrible or violent but his reaction was a bit disproportionate, I think. And I think the Jake Lacy did a fine job with the character but I wonder if he isn't too likable. I wonder if Fran was drawn to be a bit more bubbling underneath and Jake didn't play all of those layers, so the ultimate blow up fell a bit flat.

he was justifiably angry, though.

I'm not saying he didn't have a right to be angry. But he handled the situation poorly. He behaved like an asshole. He refused to listen to Hannah and then blew the fuck up. He was hardly the wounded hero of the scene.
