It's like I grew up on Stanely Kubrick. I know what the real shit looks like. I'm not falling for some Yorgos Lanthimos bullshit.

I don't think they are geniuses or anything, but Marty and Uncut Gems were nice. Smashing Machine was horrid though.

To me Uncut Gems is like Anora except Anora actually pays off.

I liked Anora a little more.

I will say Smashing Machine is kinda interesting, in that I think it's the movie The Rock very much wanted to make. But I don't think there is much drama to ring out of that subject, and they were so obsessed with realism they forgot to say anything artistic.

I need to watch Wicker Park again...

One Battle After Another. Were they trying to make DiCaprio’s character resemble one of the Seven Samurai? If yes they did a good job.
