But I'm sure there's something wrong with this and it's not enough it's never enough given2trade once gave a charity $80,001.

Also, I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt of not understanding how concerts at Wrigley work, but rescheduling that show would have been a Herculean, near impossible task. There are so many issues at play to get them there in the first place - I really don't believe the city, and more importantly Alderman Tunney (who rules that ward like a king) would have found a way to make it all work again.

Christ, I've complained about like 4 pj related things ever in this board and i got the sense that after the lotto shook out last week more people were on my side about the poor implementation but whatever. I guess people see what they want to.


As for the crowd complaint, assuming that's my big offense this time, it's more driven by surprise. I had heard people talk here about lifeless fans, but never really thought it was an issue until this show. Also the merch obsession shocked me a bit. There were people who getting aggressive and mad with sales staff for things completely out their control. I think that attitude is worthy of a little online complaining.

I do agree they could have come out a few mins earlier and gotten the Cubs song out of the way, BUT... if you recall, before Small Town, Ed went off and checked with the weather... its possible they thought theyd get that in before the rain, but were told no more. Besides... if anyone should be bitching about what time they took the stage, and not getting 1 more song in... its Ernie Banks, who stuck around till midnight just for that song, and to say hi.

complaining about what songs got cut / included... well look at it this way...
if they cut Eruption, and Bugs, for Alive? would the bitching by the hardcore nut jobs who came to see an epic show not be 1000X worse? yup. (the one thing I dont get, and its something i disliked about the PJ20 sets too... is on nights like PJ20/Wrigley... shows of this nature... there should be at least 1 song from every album... id even say 2, some of us actually like Binaural and Riot Act)

as a few have said, it was a 3 hour rain delay, and that crowd, stayed calm, and STAYED
just amazing, and awesome fans that band has... sure we werent as energetic by the end of it... but we were still there by the end of it.

I can honestly not think of one other band, who would have had that many fans still in the stands after 3 hours. THAT in itself says a lot more than any bitching about anything that happened.

I give the band credit for playing till two AM when a lot of acts would have come back out and played for maybe an hour so just to say they played long enough to constitute a "full show," but us as fans didn't do anything spectacular by staying. Fans of any big band with a passionate following, be it U2, Springsteen, DMB, etc., would have stuck around till the bitter end. The band we love may be unique, but as a fan base we're not all that different from most others.
