Not worried about the voting. People will vote however they want no matter how the guidelines are set.

people can vote on whatever criteria they like. A beautifully arranged playlist of songs I don't care for is not going to be a straight list of 10 songs I like a lot more. BUT, the playlist element will be a useful way for me to make up my mind when it is close.

I hope some people do listen to these list. I know I will. Just looking at the titles doesnt do alot. Think of the moment of nothing between Sometimes and Hail, Hail that is one of the best moments in the whole Pearl Jam catalog , and it happend with out a sound. It happens because of what came before and what happens next. That might not make any sense to some. I hope some get it though ,and remember to hear these songs with new ears not eyes.

We're all familiar enough with these songs to know how they sound just by looking at the list.

I disagree. We are all know these songs, but in what context do we know them? Context changes things alot for me. I am not saying we should listen to every list, but a few or a little of every list. Just saying don't trust your eyes.
