i agree, my excitement/anticipation is decreasing as this gets closer.broken iris wrote:Though I am excited about this show, my PJ-driven cynicism predicts this will have a bigger backlash than the PJ20 weekend did. So many people really expect them to jam out a rarity heavy hour long acoustic set at a Friday night concert in a baseball stadium in front of ten's of thousands of drunk casual fans. Just too much hype on this one for them to live up to at this point.

Its Pearl Jam. They are playing at Wrigley Field. It should be pretty great.
If you think this one is going to be a deep-cuts fest, I don't see that happening. It should be a really fun night full of rockers and sing-alongs.
this. i am tempering my expectations to avoid the disappointment. i might just approach this show like ed will: get insanely drunk and party all night.broken iris wrote:mkay0 wrote:Negative Nancys ITT.

The backlash will be from the fans who have let their expectations get out of control for this one, we're just trying to keep it real, yo.

Are you staying close to Wrigley? I am staying at the Conrad in the Loop (yeah for Hilton points!), so as of now I'll be red lining it back and forth, but would be open to splitting a car rental with anyone staying just north of the river.
Sounds like there are going to be a ton of drunk people walking around Wrigley with lots of cash on the 19th. Business Opportunity for anyone with a online printed ticket and a photocopier.BDB wrote:i havent tracked what tickets were going for on stubhub earlier on, but cheapest seat is section 500 at $315 per ticket. that is ridicilous.
isn't that true of any high demand event these days? not sure why any person would ever scalp an online ticket.broken iris wrote:Sounds like there are going to be a ton of drunk people walking around Wrigley with lots of cash on the 19th.
