Was True Detective too light-hearted for your taste? Well then I have some good news for you.
Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I read it quite awhile ago so I can't speak to it. As for Gone Girl, I read that and it infuriated me to no end. To the point where I have no urge to watch the movie, regardless of how much I like the talent involved.tragabigzanda wrote:Was the book awful? I read Dark Places on vacation once and it was one of the worst pieces of crap I've ever read...And yet I enjoyed the Gone Girl film, and this show is off to a good start. My hunch is that Flynn is a great creator of creepy modern stories, but not a terrible writer.bune wrote:Having read the book, I don't remember much about it at all other than teeth being a thing. Well I have a Go sub so I may as well use it for this, yeah?
Definitely in contention for the worst movie I’ve ever seenVinylGuy wrote:Gone Girl seemed to put some people really on their edge. I remember LV hating the movie.
