What are some movies/shows that resonated with people your age, that older people didn't get and that younger people won't understand the appeal of?
For me, it's Mean Girls.

Obviously, the resonance doesn't last forever. I don't get together with my friends and watch Mean Girls or The Matrix. But quotes are still thrown around. It's a reference point most people my age understand (but older people don't).

Argo, you know me well enough at this point. You've seen where we agree and disagree on films. Would you curate a list of films for me? I'd love for you to custom make me a list of 8 films that you think I need to see, that I will enjoy, and that could potentially end up on my all-time best/favorite list in the future.
Is that something you think you could do?

But goddamn do I love those other three movies. Especially the original Clash of the Titans.

It is funny in a quirky way. Doesn't try to be too serious but still has some actiony scenes that make it fun along with being funny. Oh, and Jovovich

Ha, no, I'm not 19 years old any more. I wouldn't think less of a person if they liked a movie I didn't.

I genuinely thought it would be the "Star Wars of our generation" when it came out. So fresh and fun and visionary and big and goofy and strange and exciting. Then they never made more of them. And then they made more Star Wars movies.

I genuinely thought it would be the "Star Wars of our generation" when it came out. So fresh and fun and visionary and big and goofy and strange and exciting. Then they never made more of them. And then they made more Star Wars movies.

also, re: Fifth Element. I seem to enjoy the strange and goofy movies that Willis is in with other known actors. This and Hudson Hawk immediately come to mind. It is almost like they get together and have fun filming and don't give AF what the end product will be.
